This unique set combines three fruit themed low denomination self adhesive postage stamps from USPS: one cent Apples, five cent Grapes and ten cent Pears Stamps, all released in recent years. THe Self adhesive one cent Apples stamps features two Albemarle Pippin Apples on a branch surrounded by leaves. The design Illustrator John Burgoyne used pen, ink and watercolor to produce the original art of Albemarle Pippin Apples under the art direction of Derry Noyes. The Newtown Pippin, also known as Albemarle Pippin, is an American apple that originated in the late 17th or early 18th century and is still cultivated on a small scale. In 2016, the U.S. Postal Service issues Grapes, a five-cent definitive stamp to be used as additional postage. Two clusters of deep-purple Pinot noir grapes are depicted growing on vines among several green leaves. The artist used pen and ink and watercolor to produce the original art. On January 17, 2016, the U.S. Postal Service issued the 10-cent Pears stamp, This 10-cent definitive stamp features two red pears on a white background. The stamp art is an existing illustration by John Burgoyne, who created the original artwork with pen and ink and watercolor. Art director Derry Noyes designed the stamp This unique set contains a sheet of 20 Grapes stamps each with a denomination of 5 cents, 24 one-cent Apple stamps as strips cut from a coil) and a block of 10 ten-cent Pears stamps.
